Pin wheel quilt along - fabric choices

I have two options for the Pin Wheel Quilt Along can not decide between them!
Option 1

Christmas this is a layer cake called Merry & Bright by Sandy Gervais. I have always promised that i would make a christmas quilt for our bed but come December i am always overwhelmed by everything so it never gets done. It does seem a little mad to be making a christmas quilt in January. If I use this one I am thinking of using the cream fabric as background for the blocks and then using the red tone on tone check for the sashing.

Or option 2

I am not usually drawn to such bright colours but i just loved this! I am not even sure what range it is.This one I will use the cream for both the background in the blocks and the sashing.

The cream fabric is an old duvet cover that is not used any more I love recyling fabric it gives a quilt a really aged look very quickly when its washed. I do love the look of antique quilts.

I have left both groups of fabric out in my work room, in the hope that one choice will finally come out on top. Although I think the final decision will not be made until i have to start cutting the fabric.

Challenges

I am currently working on a challenge quilt for our quilt group, despite having a struggle with the fabric we were given to use i am now quite thrilled with the end results. Picture will have to follow as the challenge is next week and its a secret until then.
It has been quite interesting to do having never worked like this before i did have a hard time coming up with the final design and it continued to evolve until it was completed.
We shall see what happens next week it is a viewer choice with no names on anything, i wonder how many will be easy to match to there maker?
